Welcome to CamRequest (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Platform”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CamRequest website, mobile applications and any related live-streaming services (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account, accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Services.
1. Eligibility and User Accounts
1.1. You must be at least 18 years of age to register for an account and use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
1.2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
1.3. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during the registration process and to keep your account data updated.
2. Live-Streaming Rules and Prohibited Content
By broadcasting live streams or interacting with other users on CamRequest, you agree that your content and behavior will comply with all applicable local, national and international laws.
You are strictly prohibited from broadcasting, uploading or transmitting any content that:
- Contains hate speech, harassment, bullying or defamatory statements against individuals or groups.
- Depicts explicit nudity, sexual acts or pornography.
- Shows, promotes or encourages violence, self-harm or illegal activities.
- Infringes upon the intellectual property, copyright, trademarks or privacy rights of others.
- Broadcasts music, video or commercial media for which you do not possess the necessary broadcast rights.
3. User Reporting, Moderation and Evidence Capture
To maintain a safe, secure and respectful environment for all users, CamRequest employs automated and manual moderation tools to review live broadcasts.
3.1. Automated Evidence Capture: When a viewer or user flags or reports a live broadcast for a suspected violation of our guidelines or applicable laws, the platform automatically captures a localized, low-resolution snapshot (screenshot) of the video feed at that exact moment.
3.2. Purpose of Collection: This snapshot is transmitted securely to our internal moderation queue and is used exclusively as objective evidence to evaluate the validity of the user report.
3.3. Account Suspension and Sanctions: If the captured image confirms a violation of our terms, CamRequest reserves the right to immediately suspend, restrict or permanently block the offending account without prior notice.
3.4 False Reporting Notice. Misuse of the report functionality—including submitting false, misleading or abusive flags against other users—is monitored and strictly forbidden. CamRequest reserves the right to suspend or permanently block users who engage in false reporting from accessing the app.
4. Enforcement, Violations and Account Blocking
4.1. CamRequest reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to investigate any suspected or reported violation of these Terms.
4.2. If an investigation, manual report or captured screenshot reveals a breach of these Terms, we may take immediate action, including but not limited to:
- Removing or terminating a live stream mid-broadcast.
- Issuing a formal warning.
- Temporarily suspending account access.
- Permanently blocking the user from the Platform.
4.3. If your account is blocked due to a violation, you will be barred from creating a new account. Any attempts to circumvent an account block will result in an immediate block of the newly created accounts.
5. Financial Terms, Credits and Purchases
5.1. CamRequest may offer virtual credits, subscriptions or premium minutes within the app. All financial transactions are processed securely through authorized third-party payment processors (such as Stripe).
5.2. All purchases of virtual goods, credits or subscriptions are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable consumer law.
5.3. We reserve the right to manage, regulate, control, modify or eliminate virtual credits or features at any time, in our sole discretion, without liability to you.
6. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers
6.1. The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. CamRequest does not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or free from errors or omissions.
6.2. CamRequest acts as a passive conduit for user-generated live-stream content. We do not endorse, support, represent or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy or reliability of any content broadcasted via the Services.
6.3. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CamRequest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Services.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our processing of personal data, including the temporary storage of low-resolution screenshots taken during report events, is governed by our Privacy Policy. By agreeing to these Terms, you consent to the collection and use of data as outlined in our Privacy Policy, which complies with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
8. Amendments to the Terms
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of CamRequest following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to your use of CamRequest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Netherlands. Any legal action or proceeding relating to your access to or use of, the Services shall be instituted exclusively in the competent courts of the Netherlands.
10. Community guidelines
Our community guidelines apply to all users of our app. By accessing or using camrequest, you agree to comply fully with our Community Guidelines, which form an integral part of these Terms. We strictly prohibit illegal, explicit or harmful conduct, unsafe streaming and privacy violations. Failure to adhere to our community standards may result in warnings, temporary restrictions or immediate and permanent account termination.
11. Grant of Broadcast License for Public Feeds
By initiating a public live broadcast or fulfilling an on-demand location request on CamRequest, the Broadcaster (Contributor) grants CamRequest and its authorized Enterprise Subscribers a worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicensable and royalty-free (subject to platform reward mechanisms) license to:
- Access, ingest and relay the live audio and video tracks via LiveKit Track Egress, RTMP, WHIP, HLS or direct WebRTC pipelines.
- Transmit, distribute and publicly perform the live footage across terrestrial broadcast television, cable networks, over-the-top (OTT) streaming applications and digital publishing channels.
12. Editorial Scope & Moral Rights
- Editorial Alteration: Enterprise Subscribers are permitted to resize, crop, transcode, adjust audio levels and overlay graphical lower-thirds or station watermarks for legitimate newsgathering and broadcast purposes. Sharing private RTMP/WHIP ingestion keys or scraping raw SFU feeds without an active Enterprise subscription is strictly prohibited
- Compliance with Local Broadcasting Standards: The Enterprise Subscriber assumes sole legal responsibility for editorial vetting, compliance with national media authorities (e.g., Dutch Media Authority / Commissariaat voor de Media) and any on-air delays or profanity bleeping required under regional broadcast regulations.
- Platform Limitation of Liability: CamRequest serves as a neutral technical intermediary and low-latency transmission protocol. While CamRequest provides automated moderation and contributor verification, it does not warrant the continuous legal clearance, physical safety or factual veracity of live eyewitness events captured by independent third-party broadcasters.
